Description
Ceramic
A snake holds itself in the shape of a swan, its smooth form both elegant and seemingly effortless. But there’s no mistaking the snake for anything else—its eyes, its muscular tension, the serpentine rhythm of the folds of it’s body. But it holds the pose anyway. Is it beautiful? Is it ridiculous? The matte ceramic surface gives it a soft, almost approachable appearance, contrasting with the imposed rigidity that we expect.
This piece plays with the idea of appearances—what’s natural, what’s forced, and how much effort it takes to look like who you want to be.
