How My Turtles Came to Life
My Cashew Cove Sea Turtles were born from the same spark of creativity that fuels my work as a sculptor. While working in bronze and ceramic, I found myself drawn to another less-permanent but infinitely more delicious medium: chocolate. One day, the idea of crafting turtles from cashews, caramel, and dark chocolate surfaced – but turtles that went beyond the usual puddles of chocolate, caramel, and nuts. And once that idea arrived, I couldn’t rest until I brought it to life.
Just like my sculptures, Cashew Cove Sea Turtles are all about form, texture, and detail. I am incredibly proud of the effort that goes into these little guys. Each turtle is handcrafted, using fine chocolate that’s carefully tempered for the perfect snap and gloss. The caramel is rich and smooth, designed to complement the chocolate without overpowering it. And I choose every cashew, ensuring each turtle has a charming personality.
The name Cashew Cove evokes a sense of warmth and escape—a breezy, sun-dappled spot in a faraway place. That feeling carries into the chocolates themselves. They’re not just confections; they’re little works of edible art, designed to delight with their playful shapes and crafted with the same care and attention I bring to my sculptures.
It’s all about the joy of discovery. The surprise of seeing a tiny, perfect turtle nestled in a box. The satisfaction of flavors balanced just right. And the knowledge that thought and care was put into every one.
